Dick’s Sporting Goods Open Begins Friday

The Dick’s Sporting Goods Open is set for this Friday through Sunday at En Joie Golf Club in Endicott.  Bart Bryant returns to defend his title .  Bryant edged Russ Cochran and Corey Pavin to win his first ChampionsTour event.  He won three times on the PGA Tour.

Another remarkable field is set to compete this weekend at En Joie.  Five members of the World Golf Hall of Fame are expected to play.  They include Hale Irwin, Bernhard Langer, Larry Nelson, Tom Kite and Colin Montgomery.

Langer has been having a great year with four victories so far and leads Montgomery in Schwab Cup Championship points on the Champions Tour.  This week’s winner will earn 278 Schwab Cup points.

News Radio 1290 WNBF will have reports from the Dick’s Open Friday afternoon from 3-6 PM.  Saturday at 12:30 and 3-5 PM and throughout the day on Sunday until a new champion is crowned.
