A 66-year-old Colliersville man, who was wanted by authorities in Oneonta for a criminal contempt count, is being held in the Broome County Jail following a low speed chase on Interstate 81 yesterday.

New York State Police say a car driven by Robert Hoag was seen driving erratically on Interstate 81 South in the Town of Dickinson around 9:30 Thursday evening.  Troopers say Hoag ignored police lights and sirens and continued driving southbound between 30 and 40 miles per hour.  The chase continued even after Hoag struck the center guide rail.

A Broome County Sheriff's Deputy deployed stop sticks which punctured the vehicle's right-side tires.

Hoag claimed to have suffered a diabetic episode.  He was taken to Wilson Medical Center for treatment.

He is charged with reckless driving, failure to comply, and failure to keep right.
