A man has been accused of breaking into a former girlfriend's Endicott apartment.

Authorities say 44-year-old Shawn Grant was stopped by police officers as he left an apartment complex at 500 West Main Street.

Police were called at 6:25 Wednesday morning by a neighbor who saw a man break a window and go into an apartment.

Investigators say officers discovered Grant exiting the building with a cut hand and items taken in the burglary.

Police say the woman who lives in the apartment has an order of protection against Grant. She wasn't home at the time of the break-in.

Grant was charged with burglary and criminal contempt. He was arraigned in Endicott village court and sent to Broome County Jail without bail.
