Bullpen Falters in Binghamton Mets Road Loss
The Binghamton Mets lost their fifth game in a row tonight at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine. by a final score of 6-5.
The loss drops Binghamton's record to 24-21 while the Sea Dogs are 31-15. Rainy Lara started on the mound for the B-Mets but did not figure in the decision. Cody Satterwhite took the loss and falls to 2-1. Mookie Betts smacked a two-run triple in the bottom of the 9th inning to enable the Sea Dogs to overcome a 5-4 deficit and defeat the B-Mets 6-5.
Catcher Kevin Plawecki hit a two-run home run for Binghamton. Wilfredo Tovar drove in a pair of runs in the seventh inning to put the B-Mets in the lead 5-4. That held up until the ninth inning.
The loss was Binghamton's fifth in six games at Hadlock Field during this series. Binghamton won its first four games of the nine-game road trip but faltered losing five out of six at Portland.
Binghamton returns to NYSEG Stadium to begin a 7-game stand tomorrow night when they host the New Britain Rock Cats at 7:05 (airtime at 6:50 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).
