Bob Joseph/WNBF News [February 11, 2014][/caption]Pedestrians walking on Clinton Street in Binghamton's First Ward were able to use the sidewalk in front of the former DMV office Wednesday after workers cleared away snow and ice.

The office at 181 Clinton Street was shut down last month as Broome County moved the city DMV operation to the downtown bus station.

WNBF News on Tuesday inquired about the potentially hazardous conditions on the Clinton Street sidewalk.

Some pedestrians walked in the roadway, creating a difficult situation for both walkers and drivers.

By late Tuesday afternoon, some of the ice had been removed on the walk and salt had been spread in front of the building.

Wednesday morning, two Broome County employees were at work clearing the sidewalk.
