With a lot of new development, mainly in downtown Binghamton, but also around the new Binghamton University Pharmacy School in Johnson City, some residents are complaining about the costs of housing going up and the stock of available market-rate, non-student or luxury units dwindling.

The Broome County Safe Housing Task Force develops proposals for local and state elected officials

The group says it wants to hear stories and suggestions to improve housing as well as give feedback on current proposals during the forum February 5.

The session will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Decker Room of the Broome County Public Library on Court Street in Binghamton.
