A Rochester-area glass artist will be contributing to the ACA Memorial Park being built in Binghamton.

Milon Townsend is to install glass bird sculptures to stands at the site at Front and Clinton streets.

Construction work on the project started about seven weeks ago.

The park is to be dedicated in memory of thirteen people who were fatally shot at the American Civic Association building on April 3, 2009.

The project is expected to be completed within the next few weeks.

More than $200,000 was donated for construction and maintenance of the park.
