Police say two Binghamton men are in custody in connection with the death of a First Ward man whose body was found in his home shortly after a fire was extinguished yesterday morning.

Investigators say 21 year old Julian Talamantez IV and 25 year old Nigel Saunders are charged with murder and attempted murder.

Police say a dispute was reported just after 6 a.m. at 32 Mygatt Street.

When officers arrived, they encountered a seriously injured woman who told them her boyfriend had "just been murdered."

Officers then noticed a fire was spreading on the second floor of the house. The man's body was discovered after the blaze was put out by firefighters.

The woman was reported in critical condition at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City.

Officials had been looking for a black Dodge Ram pickup truck that had belonged to the murder victim.  That vehicle has been recovered.

Authorities have not released the names of the victims and the investigation continues.
