Binghamton Mets Snap Losing Streak Against New Britain
The Binghamton Mets used "Plawecki Power" to snap a five-game losing streak last night at NYSEG Stadium. Catcher Kevin Plawecki smacked a solo home run in the eighth inning to give the B-Mets a 3-2 victory over the New Britain Rock Cats. Plawecki launched his solo shot over the left-field fence off of Cole Johnson to put Binghamton up to stay.
Jon Velasquez upped his record to 3-2 with the win. Cole Johnson drops to 0-2. Chasen Bradford pitched the ninth inning, preserved the lead and earned his ninth save this season.
With last night's win Binghamton ups its record to 25-21. Game two in the series is set for 7:05 tonight at NYSEG Stadium. Hansel Robles is the scheduled B-Mets pitcher while Matt Duffey gets the nod for New Britain. Airtime tonight is 6:50 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
