The first-place Binghamton Mets celebrated Father's Day at NYSEG Stadium with a 5-4 win over the Bowie Baysox, the Baltimore Orioles Double-A affiliates.  First baseman Joe Bonfe slammed a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning off relief pitcher Clay Schrader to give the B-Mets the victory.

Left-hander Mark Cohoon made the start on the mound and ended-up with a no decision.  Chase Huchingson earned the win in relief as he entered the game in the top of the ninth inning and kept the score even at 4-4.

The B-Mets used the long-ball to get the home victory.  Travis Taijeron, Richard Lucas and Bonfe all homered for Binghamton.  Taijeron continues to impress as he went three for four today and is now 11-30 with four home runs since his call-up from Single-A just eight games ago.

Binghamton is now 11-2 for the month of June.  The B-Mets have scored 76 runs in 13 June games and now carry a record of 20-14 at NYSEG Stadium.  They took two out of three in the series against the Baysox and and are now six and two in rubber game decisions.

The B-Mets are off tomorrow then travel to Richmond for three games Tuesday through Thursday.  Binghamton returns home for three games against Erie next weekend.  Game one of the series is  scheduled for Friday evening at 7:05 PM (airtime at 6:50 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF).
