Several hundred baseball fans jammed the Ballroom at the Holiday Inn Downtown for the 18th Annual Welcome Back Binghamton Mets Dinner.

Organizer Robin Alpaugh welcomed the crowd and introduced several guests including Michael Urda, President of the Binghamton Mets.  Urda is also one of the ball club's owners.

Amid news of the possible sale of the ball club at the end of this season, Urda confirmed that the New York Mets have extended their Player Development Contract with Binghamton for an additional four years.

That, coupled with two existing years on the current agreement, brings the affiliation with New York Mets and the Binghamton franchise through  the 2020 season.
