Visitors to the City of Binghamton will notice a number of hanging flower baskets throughout the downtown courtesy of the City and Security Mutual Life.

Binghamton is Security Mutual Life's headquarters and the locally based company scheduled its annual meeting in Binghamton June 3-5.  That event brings approximately 150 attendees to town.

In ceremonies at Binghamton's City Hall this morning Mayor Rich David declared this Security Mutual Week in Binghamton.

Binghamton was the birthplace of Security Mutual over 128 years ago and continues to serve as the company's headquarters.

Security Mutual Life has underwritten the cost of the hanging flower baskets showcased around the downtown to help beautify the city.  The company is involved in many other projects around the area as well including the annual Jim "Mudcat" Grant Celebrity Golf Tournament that brings in many sports celebrities to raise funds for several Greater Binghamton charities and non-profit organizations.
