Binghamton Mayor Richard David says the near-completion of the Riverside Drive rehabilitation is just one of an impressive number of road improvements that have been done over the past year.

David says a total of 15 miles on 48 City streets saw upgrades at a cost of $8.2 million.

Funding for street infrastructure work next year is increased by a half million dollars in the Mayor’s proposed 2016 budget.

The Mayor says the goal is to improve 15 miles of roadway a year, which is about 10% of all streets in Binghamton.

In addition to the Riverside Drive project and work on several side streets, the City partnered with the New York State Department of Transportation on several projects, including Prospect and Front Streets and funds for phase two of Riverside Drive.
