The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team plays its second game in three days against a Northeast Conference squad as BU entertains the Monmouth Hawks coached by former Binghamton Patriot point guard King Rice tonight. Rice was a McDonald's All-American in high school and went on to star for Dean Smith at the University of North Carolina. He is in his second year as head coach of the Hawks.

The Hawks bring a record of 4-3 into the game while the Bearcats are 2-6 and coming off a tough loss 71-70 to Mount St Mary's at the Events Center on Saturday.  This is the first meeting between the Bearcats and Hawks on the hardwood.

The Bearcats are led by Jordan Reed who has reached double figures in every game he has played in this season.  For the Hawks Andrew Nicholas, a 6-6 guard is averaging 15.3 points per game while Dion Nesmith is also putting up double figures

The Hawks have won three in a row while Binghamton has dropped its last two outings.  Tipoff is set for 7:05 tonight with airtime at 650 on News Radio 1290 WNBF with Roger Neel.  Next up for BU is a road game at Bryant Saturday at 1 PM.
