The annual Coaches Vs. Cancer basketball games are being played today at the Events Center at Binghamton University.  The BU women host Maine at 2 PM followed by the Bearcats men's contest against UMass Lowell at 4:30 PM.

Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches.  Coaches vs. Cancer provides critical mission outreach while raising funds in support of the Society's lifesaving cancer research, education, advocacy and community service efforts.  The program has raised more than $25 since its inception in 1993.

Both Binghamton head coaches are pledging five dollars for every point their team scores in today's games.  Fans can expect to see a little different attire on the coaches and players today, too.

The women will wear special pink jerseys for the game while both coaching staffs will be wearing sneakers during their games.  The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a Bearcats Pink Ribbon T-Shirt commemorating Binghamton University's role in the Coaches vs. Cancer program.

Coverage of both of today's games can be heard on News Radio 1290 WNBF.  Tim Heiman calls the action of the women's game beginning at 1:45 PM.  Roger Neel has the men's broadcast scheduled for a 4:30 PM start.
