The Binghamton Bearcats Men's Basketball Team dropped a 67-39 decision to the Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor last night.  The Wolverines came into the game ranked third in the nation and upped their record to 10 - 0.  It is the highest- ranked team the Bearcats have faced since turning Division I 12 seasons ago.

Michigan was led in scoring by guard Trey Burke with 19 points.  The only other Wolverine in double figures was Nik Stauskas with 12 points.  Binghamton had one player to score in double figures. Freshman Jordan Reed hit for 11 points.  Reed also paced the Bearcats with 8 rebounds.

The Wolverines led 34-14 at the end of the first half and outscored the Bearcats 33-25 in the second half. The Bearcats played at Michigan once previously.  They opened the 2004-2005 season in Ann Arbor in the Preseason NIT with a 59-46 loss to the Wolverines.

The Bearcats do not play again until Friday, December 28 when they travel to Hamilton to face the Colgate Raiders at 7 PM.  Binghamton closes out its non-conference schedule at home on Sunday, December 30 by hosting Cornell.  Tipoff for that game is 2 PM. That is a "Weis Markets Pack the House" game.  Area Weis Markets are giving away free coupons for admission to the game.  Coupons can be redeemed at the Events Center Box Office for actual tickets to the contest.
