The Binghamton Bearcats men's and women's basketball teams swept the Maine Black Bears this weekend in Orono, Maine.  The women  topped Maine this afternoon 67-65 at Alfond Arena.  Stephanie Jensen led the Bearcats with 15 points...12 in the second half by connecting on 5 three-point shots.  Kara Elofson and Sherae Swinson hit for 13 points each for

The Bearcats used a 17-8 run in the second half to erase a 14 point deficit.  Binghamton shot 47% from the floor and also hit 7-15 attempts for three-point baskets.

The win snaps a 4-game losing streak and gives the Bearcats a 2-4 America East record and 3-16 overall slate.  Maine remains winless in AE play with an 0-5 mark and 1-17 overall.

Yesterday the BU men topped the Black Bears 57-56 as senior guard Jimmy Gray nailed a three-pointer with just 2 seconds to go in the game.  Alasdair Fraser scored on a put-back for Maine just seconds earlier to put the Black Bears up by a bucket.  The Bearcats men and women are off until Saturday when they host New Hampshire in a doubleheader at the Events Center.  The women meet the Wildcats at 4 PM with the men to follow at 7 PM.  Both games can also be heard on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
