The Binghamton Mets clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2004 as they came from behind to defeat the New Britain Rock Cats 5-4 at NYSEG Stadium tonight.  The B-Mets magic number to clinch the regular season championship in the Eastern Division of the Eastern League is now at five. Any combination of Binghamton wins and Trenton losses totaling five clinches it for the B-Mets.

Mark Cohoon went six innings and gave up four runs as he raised his record to 9-3.  The B-Mets are now 79-47 on the season.

Binghamton trailed 4-0 until the sixth inning when they scored all five of their runs.  Cory Vaughn drove in two runs with a single and the B-Mets moved to a lead they never relinquished.

Chase Huchingson pitched two scoreless innings in relief of Cohoon.  Chasen Bradford came on to close out the ninth in 1-2-3 fashion to preserve the win.

The B-Mets close out the series against New Britain tomorrow night with a 6:35 game.  Airtime is 6:20 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
