Alexis, a four month old mixed breed girl paid a visit to the Binghamton Now studios along with representatives of the B.C. Humane Society in Binghamton to talk about pet adoption and a fundraiser that is currently underway that also teaches pet owner responsibility.

Ripley to the Rescue is an upbeat children's book about an abandoned puppy who grows up to help other dogs in need. The book comes with a Ripley plush toy.

Humane Society Executive Director, Karen Matson and Fundraising Coordinator Kim Broderick told host, Bob Joseph that residents can help the B.C. Humane Society when they purchase the book online at www.firstideascorp.com/catalog/item/8613363/9517147.htm and enter the code BCHS when they check out.  The Binghamton shelter will get 50% of each purchase.

Alexis, meanwhile, along with dozens of dogs and cats are available for adoption at the Jackson Street, Binghamton Shelter. More information is available by stopping by the shelter, going online at www.bchumanesoc.com or by calling (607) 724-3709.
