The Binghamton Mets are hosting the New Britain Rock Cats at NYSEG Stadium tonight in the regular season home finale for the B-Mets.  Following tonight's game the B-Mets head to Richmond to close out the regular campaign over the Labor Day weekend with Monday's 12:05 contest the final page in the regular season book.

The B-Mets still have a shot at first place but time is running out.  Portland's magic number to clinch the regular season Eastern Division crown is three.  Wherever the final standings fall the two teams will meet next Wednesday in game one of the playoffs.  If the B-Mets end up in second place the opening two games will be at NYSEG Stadium.  Should the B-Mets secure first place they would open on the road.  The first round is set so that the higher seed gets the fifth or final game in the series if needed.

Greg Peavey makes the start tonight and looks for his twelfth win as a B-Met this season.  He brings an ERA  of 2.94 into the contest. Tonight's game is being broadcast on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
