Binghamton’s Budget Gets Council Approval
If you own a home in the City of Binghamton, your property taxes are due to go up less than a half percent next year.
Following a public hearing October 21, Council approved a $90.4 million budget that raises residential property taxes .4% and decreases commercial property taxes .01%.
The budget passed 5-2.
Council had little revisions to make to the original proposal presented by Republican Mayor Richard David.
If David did have any issues with the transfer of $2,500 from the parks and recreation’s gasoline budget to the contingency fund, he has until November 6 to veto.
