Woman on Trial For Toddler’s Injury After Changing Mind on Plea Deal
A woman, accused of fracturing a toddler’s skull in Endicott, is on trial after changing her mind about taking a plea deal
.
26-year-old Danielle Agosto is accused of injuring her boyfriend’s three-year-old boy.
The woman and the child’s father were watching the toddler for several hours on October 30, 2017 when the mother picked up the boy and found a large lump on the side of his head.
Agosto is charged with felony assault and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
She had pleaded guilty last October in a deal that would have put her in prison for up to two years but she withdrew that plea, clearing way for the trial that started this week.
If convicted by a jury, Agosto could be sentenced to seven years in prison.
