In Broome and Tioga counties, roads are slushy and snow covered.  Numerous crashes and fender benders have been reported all around the region overnight going into Thanksgiving morning.

In addition to snow continuing to fall into the morning, the situation is further compounded with Thanksgiving holiday traffic.  Much of that traffic is passing through through the area and not familiar with projects like the Prospect Mountain Project which can slow motorists down.

For all travelers, officials say you should give yourself plenty of time to get where you are going, leave lots of space between vehicles, obey the speed limits, don't drink and drive and don't use hand-held mobile devices while operating a motor vehicle.

Law enforcement agencies throughout the Twin Tiers have increased patrols throughout the entire weekend looking for drunk, distracted and dangerous drivers.

WNBF will provide the latest weather and traffic information through the  holiday weekend.
