Broome County Executive Jason Garnar says the Willow Point Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is no longer considered a coronavirus hotspot.

Garnar on Wednesday said the COVID-19 developments at the county-operated facility in Vestal represent "really, really good news."

The county executive said "there are only two active positive cases" related to the nursing home. He said in recent months, 180 residents had tested positive.

Garnar said Willow Point has had no new confirmed coronavirus cases for about 28 consecutive days. He said the county is developing a Willow Point visitation plan, which may be implemented next week.
