The Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball team squared off against the New Hampshire Wildcats at the Events Center this (Saturday) afternoon in a battle of America East unbeatens.  When the final buzzer sounded it was New Hampshire still without a conference loss as the Wildcats defeated Binghamton 70-62.

The Wildcats came roaring out of the gate to take a 19-5 lead early in the opening period.  The Bearcats fought back to trail by four 40-36 at the end of the first half.

Alyssa James and Imani Watkins topped Binghamton shooters with 21 points apiece.  James was 10-13 from the field before fouling out late in the fourth period.  Watkins matched her 21 point effort in 38 minutes of playing time.

The Bearcats defense forced 21 Wildcat turnovers while Binghamton turned the ball over 15 times.  New Hampshire held a 37-24 advantage in rebounds.

With the loss BU drops to 3-1 in America East action and 8-9 overall.  New Hampshire moves to 3-0 in conference play and 13-3 overall.

Binghamton is idle until Thursday night when they host Albany at the Events Center.  Starting time is set for 7 PM with air on CBS Sports Radio 1360 AM at 6:45 PM.
