Due to undeclared soy and coconut products that the desserts may contain, Weis Markets is recalling Weis Quality Sea Salt Caramel Ripple Ice Cream, according to the U.S Food and Drug Administration.

The recalled ice cream product is believed to have been distributed to as many as 197 Weis Market stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Delaware.

Although there have been no reported illnesses to date, the recall was issued after the company discovered that the ice cream product which contains soy and coconut was distributed to stores in packaging that didn’t clearly reveal that the product contains soy and coconut.

The recalled conatainers say “Weis Quality Sea Salt Caramel Ripple Ice Cream,” and the lid says “Weis Quality Caramel Caribou Ice Cream.” The product being recalled is packaged in a scround container with a UPC of 041497-01288 and with a sell by date of Nov. 8, 2023. The ice cream was produced on Nov. 8, 2022 and the sell by date can be located on the bottom of the container.

An investigation discovered that the ingredients were not listed on the packgacking due to a temporary breakdown in the company’s production and packaging process.
