Weeks After Contract Announcement BAE Expects Layoffs
BAE Systems is laying off workers in staff reductions that are being linked to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Company officials were not specifically saying what locations will be taking the hit but the system-wide cut is being put at about two-percent. The Endicott location could be among sites anticipating workforce reductions.
The move comes two weeks after BAE announced it had landed a contract for the Endicott plant to provide components for hybrid buses for New York City that the company said would mean over 1300 high-tech jobs in New York State.
