Week Starts With More Potential for Flooding in Twin Tiers
The Twin Tiers is starting a new week with another potential for flooding issues even with the projected new rainfall amounts less than a tenth of an inch outside of thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service in Binghamton says scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast for Monday, July 19 with rain possible through early Wednesday, July 21.
With soils still very wet from recent bouts of rain, isolated flooding will be possible, especially during the thunderstorms that are possible Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Locations that already experienced flooding in recent days, will be more vulnerable to additional rainfall.
Residents and businesses located near waterways should keep up on current weather and water conditions and be prepared to take any necessary action.
Residents who have storm drains near their homes or businesses should help prevent flooding in the poor drainage areas by clearing debris from those drain grates.
