Waverly Man Tries to Fool Sheriff’s Deputies With Fake Name

A Waverly man is accused of lying to Tioga County Sheriff’s Deputies who were investigating reports of a suspicious person in the Town of Barton April 19.

Authorities say they found 35-year-old Timothy Davis was wanted on a warrant when they talked to him on Route 17C at 3:35 a.m.

Deputies say Davis gave them a fake name so he’s charged with criminal impersonation and being a fugitive from justice.

Davis was sent to the Tioga County Jail without bail to wait for his next court date in May.
