Waverly Man Accused of Trying to Arrange Sex With Child
A Tioga County man is accused of attempting to entice a child into having sex with him.
Federal Prosecutors say between August 11 and the 27th, 39-year-old Jacob Gorman of Waverly allegedly engaged in text messages with an undercover FBI agent he thought was the mother of a 9-year-old girl, arranging a hook-up between him and the child.
Federal Investigators say Corman allegedly negotiated a price he was willing to pay the “fake mom” and set up a location in Broome County for him to meet and have sex with the child August 27. That when he was met by law enforcement officers and arrested.

If convicted, the Waverly man faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum of life in federal prison as well as a maximum fine of $250,000.
