COVID-19 concerns and restrictions have caused numerous cancellations and schedule revamping in all facets of our area.  Another major venue affected by the pandemic is Watkins Glen International.  The Glen announced several changes pertaining to its racing weekend schedule in the coming months.

According to a press release issued by Watkins Glen International today (May 15) The Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen has been rescheduled. The event which was slated for June 25-28 has been moved to October 1-4, 2020.

Other events to be held during the new schedule include the IMSA Weather Tech Sports Car Championship, Michelin Pilot Challenge, Porsche GT3 Cup and Lamborghini Super Trofeo races will now be held on that same weekend in October.

Information in the release also includes other changes including the SCCA Majors Super Tour which was on for June 19-21 and the Finger Lakes Wine Festival which was set for July 10-12 this summer.  The Wine Festival has been moved to July 9-11, 2021.  The SCCA Majors Super Tour is being moved and the new date will be announced soon.

Watkins Glen International draws large crowds throughout the racing and events season.  The Glen is offering information on the handling of tickets that have already been purchased for the events that have been postponed or moved.

Watkins Glen International is offering some package deal information.  Elections for ticket purchases for those looking for exchanges or additional orders can be made within 30 days after the release of the rescheduled date.
