Virtual Post-Disaster Public Hearing and Republican Town Hall Planned
Broome County is holding a public hearing via video conference at 5 p.m. June 10 to talk about its post-disaster plans.
The recovery plan identifies community-specific issues related to emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic emergency.
The hearing will provide an overview of the plan and items identified as priorities.
The draft plan and information on joining the Zoom meeting can be found at www.gobroomecounty.com/planning/recovery.
New York State Executive Law Article 2-B outlines requirements for State and local disaster plans.
Written comments can be submitted to the planning department at P.O. Box 1766, Binghamton, New York 13902 until June 12. Comments can also be directed via email to Beth Lucas at beth.lucas@broomecounty.us.
Also, New York State Senator Fred Akshar, Broome Legislative Chairman Daniel Reynolds and County Legislator Scott Baker are hosting a joint virtual town hall meeting June 10 for residents of Eastern Broome.
Residents who would like to participate are asked to register at Akshar.NYSenate.Gov. The Town Hall is to start at 6 p.m.
