Matthews along with 47 other nominees will be honored at the National Automobile Dealers Association show in January of 2023. According to the press release, the award recognizes the nation's most successful auto dealers who also demonstrate a long-standing commitment to community service.

Matthews joined the dealership group founded by his father Jim in 2005, working on marketing and advertising. He is now the president of the company, which has expanded to 15 stores. He works with a number of organizations in the Southern Tier, including the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce, the American Heart Association's Southern Tier Hear Walk, the Matthews Auto Walk-A-Thon, and as a youth coach for the Southern Tier Hockey Association.

Matthews shared profuse appreciation for his team, saying "All of our success comes from the team we built and the improvements we made in daily operations. I am so proud of what we have achieved and so grateful for what we can accomplish together."

He also credited the culture he's help to build at the dealership, which includes reward programs, an annual company picnic, a hardship fund and bonus off days for employees who work during three-day holiday weekends, which are typically popular times for auto sales.

Matthews is one of only 48 dealers nominated for the award out of more than 16,000 nationwide. So this should be a proud moment not only for him and his team, but for the entire Binghamton area.
