Vestal Pot Shop to Open Near Binghamton University Campus
The site of a long-time Vestal business is being transformed into a modern cannabis retail store.
Construction crews have been busy gutting and modernizing a building just across the Vestal Parkway from the Binghamton University Innovative Technologies Complex.
The property at 4535 Vestal Road had been used for more than a decade by White Rose Day Spa. Karen Latta, who had owned that business, said she decided it was time to retire. White Rose closed last November.
According to the town of Vestal planning board, plans by Canna Blooms to occupy the space had been approved. The site was sold to a Hicksville-based LLC for $685,000.
The renovation work inside the Vestal Road building began several weeks ago. A company called Charcoal Construction has posted online updates indicating it is handling the Vestal project, along with other future Canna Blooms locations.
Construction for display, office and security areas is expected to continue for the next month or so.
A project supervisor at the site Monday said he didn't know when the dispensary would open.
Canna Blooms representatives did not immediately respond to requests for information about the company or the Vestal store.
