Vehicle Tire Fire Report Ends in DWI Charge
Smoking tires lead to a drunk driving charge and traffic tickets for a Hamburg, New York man.
New York State Police responded to a report of a vehicle with a tire fire in the Perkins Restaurant parking lot on Route 434 in the Town of Owego at 12:25 a.m. August 31.
Responding Troopers say they smelled the odor of burnt rubber and found 32 year old Robert Moore standing next to his work truck.
Troopers say they determined Moore was driving drunk when he parked the vehicle. He refused to take a breath test.
He was sent to the Tioga County Jail on $2,000.
