No injuries are reported after fire damaged a vacant home on the South Side of Binghamton January 20.

Firefighters were called to the building on Park Avenue at around 7:30 p.m. and found flames shooting from the windows.

The homes next to the burning building were evacuated as a precaution.  Fire crews spent close to two hours battling the flames. Cold temperatures hindered the fight with a couple of the fire department’s water lines freezing and slippery conditions for the firefighters.

The investigation into the cause is underway.
