Endicott police say two village residents were stabbed during an altercation at an apartment house.

Investigators say the incident was reported shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday. The dispute apparently occurred in the driveway of a building at 107 Cleveland Avenue.

Detectives say a 22-year-old man sustained stab wounds to his back and stomach. He was located about a block to the east at a Monroe Street residence. He was taken to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City for treatment. His condition was not reported.

The other person who was stabbed was a 29-year-old man. He sustained wounds to his rib area. He was found at the Cleveland Avenue apartment building. Police say he refused medical attention.

The names of the injured men were not released. Investigators did not indicate whether any weapons were recovered or whether others were involved in the dispute.

Village police were assisted by state police and Broome County sheriff's deputies.

People with information about the altercation may contact the Endicott police department at (607) 785-3341.
