Two Southern Tier men are being charged in an on-going investigation into a burglary in the Town of Delhi.

Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say 37 year old Patrick Burnside of Bloomville and 43 year old George Robinson Senior of Delhi are accused of forcing their way into a Delhi home July 17 and stealing a safe containing about $6,000 worth of cash and jewelry.

Investigators say Burnside and Robinson are each charged with violent felony offense of burglary, felony grand larceny and felony conspiracy.  The pair is also charged with misdemeanor criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument.

Sheriff’s officials say in addition, Robinson is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and unlicensed operation after Deputies say they saw him driving on Scotch Hill Road in Koright July 27 while his driving privileges were suspended for failing to respond to summonses and an alcohol-related offense.

Burnside is being held in the Delaware County Jail on $25,000 bail while bail was set for Robinson at $500,000.

Authorities say they are still investigating and attempting to recover the stolen safe and its contents.
