Two men were sent to Tioga County Jail after they were arrested in connection with the theft of tractor parts from an auction house.

Authorities say 34-year-old Theodore Cooper of Nichols and 35-year-old Jack Cooper of Latham were charged with fourth-degree grand larceny.

According to the Tioga County Sheriff's Office, the men were arrested at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators say Theodore Cooper is suspected of stealing more than $1,000 in parts from Goodrich Auctions on Route 38 in the Town of Newark Valley.

The men were taken into custody after a vehicle stop on Zimmer Road, a short distance from the auction business.

The suspects were arraigned in Newark Valley town court. Theodore Cooper was ordered held on $2,500 bail. Jack Cooper was sent to jail on $10,000 bail.

Both men were ordered to appear in court on March 14.
