Twin Tiers Schools Affected By Extreme Cold

Some area schools will open late January 8 because of the dangerously cold temperatures.

The National Weather Service office at the Greater Binghamton Airport has posted a Wind Chill Advisory for the region. It's scheduled to be in effect through 10 a.m. January 8.

The first area school districts to notify WNBF News of adjusted schedules were Bainbridge-Guilford in Chenango County and Newfield in Tompkins County. Those districts plan to operate with two-hour delays.
