The Twin Tiers are continuing to mop up from the day-long rain October 26 and resulting flooding.

Hickories Park in Owego was closed due to high water. October 27, Broome County Executive Jason Garnar posted on social media that Otsiningo Park North, Dorchester Park boat launch and En-Joie Golf Course were closed due to flooding.

Several roads in Wayne County were also reported to be closed due to flood damage.

The Susquehanna River in Vestal had fallen to below the 18-foot flood stage early October 28 according to observations published by the National Weather Service in Binghamton. The Susquehanna at Conklin had also fallen below the 12-foot flood stage.

A Flood Warning remained in effect for the Tioughnioga River in Cortland County until late morning on October 28 with minor flooding at the river gages in Cortland.  The river was expected to fall below the eight-foot flood stage by early in the afternoon.

The Chenango River at Chenango Forks was below the 10-foot flood stage by late afternoon October 27 and continued to fall.

More rain in the forecast for overnight October 29 is expected to bring water levels back up but no flooding was being anticipated in spite of the saturated ground.
