Troopers Shoot at Fleeing Teen in Susquehanna Pennsylvania
A Friendsville, Pennsylvania teen is being held in the Susquehanna County Jail after State Police say he almost hit officers with his pickup truck while trying to avoid arrest.
Troopers arrived at a home on Mucky Run Road in Liberty Township at 1:20 p.m. April 30 to serve 19 year old Elisha Newhart with a warrant when he got into the truck and tried to flee, almost hitting a trooper.
State Police say several shots were fired at Newhart but he drove off at a high rate of speed, crashing his truck nine miles down the road then fleeing on foot into the woods. He was found hiding inside a cabin and arrested without further incident.
There were no injuries to Newhart or officers.
The teen is charged with aggravated assault.
