A 34-year-old woman was killed when the vehicle she was driving slammed into a truck on Route 17C in Tioga County.

Authorities say 34-year-old Crystal VanDusen of Barton was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the Tioga County Sheriff's Office, VanDusen was operating a 2005 Honda Civic in the Town of Barton. The car struck the rear of a 2013 Western Star dump truck driven by a Tioga County highway department worker.

The crash happened on Route 17C near the intersection with Shepard Road. The roadway was closed for more than seven hours for the crash investigation.
