Tioga County Sheriff’s officials say they expect tickets will be written in connection with a head-on crash September 17 that involved three vehicles and sent two people to the hospital.

An eastbound Hyundai sedan crossed into the oncoming lane of Route 79 in the Town of Richford at 7:55 a.m. and hit a westbound sport utility vehicle and pickup truck.

Route 79 near Michigan Hill Road was closed for two hours.

Tioga Sheriff’s officials say two of the drivers were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The names of those involved and the nature of their injuries have not been released.

The investigation is continuing.

The Sheriff’s officials were assisted at the scene by the Richford Fire Department and Maine Emergency Medical Services.
