Officials got complaints from citizens about suspected illegal activity at “Bmillz” business locations on Route 17C in the Town of Owego, North Main Street in the Village of Nichols and Broad Street in the Village of Waverly along with an apartment over the Waverly business.

Sheriff’s Deputies, New York State Police Special Investigations Unit personnel and officials with the Tioga County District Attorney’s Office investigated the complaints and found locations unlawfully selling marijuana, possession of cannabis and concentrated cannabis products over what is allowed by New York regulations, large amounts of cash and, in Nichols, equipment used in the production of concentrated cannabis and items in various stages of production.  Authorities say in the Waverly apartment, they found finished product as well as chemicals and equipment for processing marijuana into concentrated oil and resin.

The Sheriff’s office has not listed any arrests but say criminal charges are anticipated as the evidence is still being processed.

Meanwhile, residents and, especially parents, are cautioned to be on the lookout for packaged snacks that appear to be normal foods but contain high amounts of THC.  The packets frequently have slightly altered names of commercial snacks like “Weedish Fish” instead of “Swedish Fish”, “Trips Ahoy”, “Stoney-Ohs” or “Stoner-Patch” while other names are not so obvious.
