Tioga continues to roll by posting a 43-20 victory over Frankfort Schuyler in a Class D state quarterfinal playoff game at Dick Hoover Stadium in Vestal on Friday night.  Emmett Wood scored three touchdowns to pace the way to victory.  Tioga is now 11-0 while Frankfort Schuyler ends its season 8-3.

In the Class A quarterfinal game also at Dick Hoover Stadium Carthage took a 14-0 lead at the end of the first half and then went up 31-0 before the Tigers could strike.  With 13 seconds left in the third quarter Rocco Spinelli scored on a run from three yards out.  The two- point conversion was good and it was 31-8 Carthage.  Union-Endicott was able to punch in one more score with 7:50 left in the fourth quarter.  Spinelli carried in from four yards out for his second touchdown of the night but it was not enough as Carthage advances with a 38-14 win.  Carthage ups it record to 10-1 while the Tigers close their season at 2-8.

Quarterfinal playoff action continues today (Saturday) with three games at Dick Hoover Stadium.  In the Class C contest Susquehanna Valley puts its 23-game winning streak on the line against Lowville.at noon. At 3 PM Chenango Forks tackles Solvay.  The nightcap features the Class AA battle between Corning and Cicero-North Syracuse.
