Tioga County is recording two more deaths due to the coronavirus pandemic.  The county November 17 reported the death toll at 51 with 11 additional case for a total of 978.

Broome County had 61 new cases.  The totals for Broome since the start of the pandemic stand at 4,340 confirmed cases and 112 deaths. Chenango County reported five additional cases November 17 for a total of 506 and 10 deaths.

Cortland County added 16 cases to its total for 1,118 with one reported death and Delaware County reported ten new cases for a total of 286 and nine deaths.

Tioga was the only of the five Southern Tier counties to report additional deaths.

New York State recorded 29 more people died November 16 for a total of 26,189 lives lost so far.  There were over 5,000 new cases reported November 17.

Pennsylvania’s almost out-of-control numbers are prompting health officials in the Keystone State to impose new restrictions.

Health Secretary Doctor Rachel Levine says masks will now have to be worn indoors wherever people from different households are gathered, even if they are six feet apart and out-of-state travelers will have to have a negative COVID test before arriving in the Commonwealth.
