Tioga County State of Emergency: All Schools Closed for One Month
All Tioga County school districts have been ordered closed as a state of emergency was declared following a positive coronavirus test.
According to a statement issued by Tioga County government, the state of emergency went into effect at 1 p.m. Saturday in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
All schools districts are to be closed through April 14. The order affects extracurricular activities.
Tioga County public health officials said they were aware of only one confirmed coronavirus case.
Efforts were underway "to monitor the situation and determine individuals and places this individual might have close contact with."
