Tioga County Sex Offender Failed to Register Email Account

A Tioga County man is to be sentenced in October for failing to register required information as a sex offender.

49-year-old Paul Wyak of Spencer pleaded guilty in Federal Court after investigators found he had an email address that he had not disclosed to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.

Wyak was required to register as a sex offender after his conviction in 2008 for distribution of child pornography. He was sentenced to 92 months in prison under that conviction.

For failing to report his email address, Wyak is looking at a maximum of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
