Three Murder Suspects Found in Endicott Residence
A trio of men wanted in connection with a Pennsylvania robbery and killing were found hiding out about two blocks from the Endicott police station.
Authorities said the suspects were tracked down to an apartment at 1104 Monroe Street. They were taken into custody without incident around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday.
Residents of three other apartments in the building were evacuated as police executed a search warrant.
The suspects are 29-year-old Daquan Allen, 28-year-old Jerry Butler and 18-year-old Damon Brantley Jr.
The men were wanted on first-degree murder and robbery charges in connection with a January 20 killing of a man in the Philadelphia area.
Investigators said 35-year-old William Carter was walking in Norristown on shortly before 8 p.m. that evening when he was gunned down. Police responding to a report of shots fired found Carter dead on a sidewalk.
A $2,000 reward had been issued for the apprehension of each of the three men suspected in the crime.
The Southern Tier SWAT team, along with members of the U.S. Marshals Service, Broome County Sheriff's Office and Endicott police were involved in taking the men into custody.
Investigators said a search of the Monroe Street apartment resulted in the recovery of evidence linked to the murder investigation.
Allen, Butler and Brantley are being held at Broome County Jail in the town of Dickinson to await extradition to Pennsylvania.
